Off-topic Chit-chat.. / Better kitchen appliances by boronizing?
« on: September 04, 2017, 05:31:21 am »
Greetings ~

So, my husband and I want to redo our kitchen completely and we're, of course, looking into various stainless steel kitchen appliances. Obviously, every kitchen needs a sink but we're unsure which one to get. I know that almost all steel sinks are made of stainless steel but since our last sink was also made of stainless steel but didn't look so great after 17 years of usage, we want to try hardening the material. The other day I have read an article about hardening steel by boronizing on this website and it said that it improves many properties, such as better wear resistance! I realize that this is mostly for industrial purposes but I was wondering if it's possible to boronize your kitchen appliances as well? Does anyone know?

Best wishes!

To everyone who is married with kids - does your relationship/marriage suffer due to the stress? Do you find time to be with each other? Or do you find that things get harder?

Off-topic Chit-chat.. / My son needs help in school
« on: March 23, 2017, 09:21:28 am »
It's kind of crazy how much kids these days learn in school... If you think about it, new generations have to learn SO much more than ANY previous generation because science keeps evolving and keeps piling up new things to learn.

One of those is apaprently is thermal analysis. My son's teacher was adamant about covering this topic :(

The problem is, Billy can't keep up. And it breaks my heart that I can't help him. I really wish I could, but I really feel stupid because I don't know anything about the subject. I have found a helpful website but not much else. Can someone link me to a website that explains thermal analysis for dummies?
